Catherine Gray, the host of Invest In Her, interviews Máirín Murray, a tech innovator and ‘woman founder’ community champion with extensive knowledge of the start-up ecosystem in Ireland and beyond. She is a TEDx speaker who has led the design and development of numerous award-winning digital products. She is passionate about harnessing tech for positive social impact and co-founded Tech for Good Dublin in 2017 and recently launched TechFoundHer – a 500+ network of women tech founders that aims to unlock the potential of women founders to start, scale and grow tech companies for the benefit of our economy, society and world.
Máirin has an MSC from the Computer Science department at Trinity College Dublin which she completed in 2001 graduating when the dotcom bubble was about to crash! She started her career working in the BBC working first in Belfast and then London as a Sen Digital Producer specialising in digital inclusion and learning platform projects. Growing up in County Down during ‘The Troubles’ influenced her sense that identity and culture is contested and how polarisation of thought and position takes place in any ‘space’ of conflict. She is committed to addressing entrepreneurial inequality and to challenge the structural and cultural bias women founders face.
